Deputy Clerk I - Probate Division

Tazewell County Circuit Court Clerk's office is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Deputy Clerk I - Probate Division. Requires knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and equipment. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs a variety of complex clerical tasks involved in the processing, reviewing, and filing of legal documents pertaining to Probate Court
  • Provides direction and assistance on Probate Court matters to attorneys and the
  • Opens case files, receipts monies, provides counter assistance, review files for court action, prepare statistical reports, and closes
  • Oversee the processing and management of court documents, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with legal
  • Manage the scheduling of clients, coordinating with judges, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient use of court time.
  • Facilitate the collection, disbursement, and accurate recording of court fees, fines, and other financial
  • Implement and maintain case management systems, ensuring the secure and efficient storage and retrieval of court
  • Serve as a liaison between the court and the public, providing information and assistance regarding court procedures and case
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and other agencies to ensure the execution of court orders, such as warrants and subpoenas.

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by business school or college level courses or training in business administration or a related field. BS degree in business administration, accounting, information technology management or equivalent experience preferred. Beginning annual salary $40,410 per Virginia State Compensation Board Guidelines.

Typing test for efficiency and accuracy is required during interview. Upon acceptance of position individual must submit to and pass criminal background and drug test.

Paramedic

Within this position an employee works independently in providing a high level of emergency care by responding to emergency calls for a variety of illnesses and injuries. Performs basic and advanced life support, stabilization procedures and emergency medical care at the paramedic level of training and certification, in accordance with all rules and regulations set forth by the Virginia Office of EMS. Operating and maintaining agency apparatuses and equipment with due regard, pursuant to the Code of Virginia and regulatory requirements; assisting in the routine maintenance and inspection of agency apparatus, facilities, and equipment. Other job duties: Performs similar, less skilled tasks, assist supervisory and billing staff in timely reports, collecting data and submitting for billing; perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Starting Pay $18.00/hr. Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must possess a valid Virginia Paramedic certification, CPR, ACLS and PALS. EMT Basic

Job Summary: An employee in this class is responsible for responding to the scene of emergency and non-emergency calls, applying necessary medical treatment to sick or injured persons, and transporting persons to medical facilities. Work includes assuring that quality emergency patient care standards are in place, proper equipment and treatment are available, and sound judgment and treatment decisions are made. Operating and maintaining agency apparatuses and equipment with due regard, pursuant to the Code of Virginia and regulatory requirements; assisting in the routine maintenance and inspection of agency apparatus, facilities, and equipment. Starting pay $15.44/hr. Other job duties: Performs similar, less skilled tasks, assist supervisory and billing staff in timely making reports, collecting data and submitting for billing; perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must possess a valid VA Emergency Medical Technician certificate and CPR certification and maintain state requirements.
