Chief Brooks attended school in Tazewell and is a graduate of Pocahontas High. He began his Fire Service career in 1989 after serving in the United States Army. Chief Brooks served 24 years in the Tampa Bay area before retiring as a Battalion Chief returning to Tazewell County.
Chief Brooks obtained an Associate Degree in Fire Science Technology, Bachelor's Degree in Business (Management) and a Master's Degree in Public Administration.

Volunteers, We Want You!
The need for volunteers in the Fire Service has never been greater than it is today. If you are interested in serving the community that you live in please call today. IF you may feel you aren't qualified or not physically able to actively fight fires, I encourage you to call. We are in need of Fire Fighters, Pump Operators, computer I.T. skills, Report Writers or simply support personnel for Fire Prevention activities. If you have a skill, chances are we can use.

Cadets
Are you interested in a career as a first responder after high school?
If so, this program is for you! We are looking for high school students 15-18 years of age that are interested in the Fire, EMS, or Dispatch fields. The program meets on the 1st and 4th Tuesday of each month at Tazewell County Fire Department. The classes are paramilitary in nature due to the job. We will provide basic Firefighter, EMS training with the opportunity to observe 911 dispatchers at work.
