Tazewell County is seeking an EMS Chief responsible for the planning, managing, and reviewing the activities and operations of the newly formed Tazewell County EMS. The Chief will work closely with the Director in comprising an annual budget for the agency, managing compliance with state rules and regulations and incident reporting. Seek out grant opportunities, develop training programs, assist in development of policies and procedure and EMS strategic plan. Candidate must have a working knowledge of Virginia State Statues pertaining to EMS. Must be able to pass annual fit for duty test.
Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years managerial/supervisory experience in Emergency Services with a progressive roll in the EMS command structure.
Bachelor's Degree with major course work in Management, or other course work directly related to the core functions of this position is preferred buy not necessary. Candidate must hold current paramedic certification or ability to obtain within twelve(12) months of hire. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years previous experience at the rank of Captain, Chief Officer Director. Successful Candidate must possess a valid Virginia driver's license upon employment.
