Victim Assistant Advocate
The Tazewell County Victim/Witness Assistance Program has a part-time Victim Assistant Advocate position available. Duties will include, but are not limited to, individual advocacy, crisis intervention, notification assistance, victim/witness support, opening client files and assistance with restitution.Must have high school diploma or equivalency. Must have valid driver's license. Knowledge of the criminal justice system is preferred. All applicants will be subject to a background check and drug screen. Tazewell County, Virginia is seeking an EMS Captain responsible for the planning, managing, and reviewing the activities and operations of the newly formed Tazewell County EMS. The Captain will work closely with the Director in comprising an annual budget for the agency, managing compliance with state rules and regulations and incident reporting. Seek out grant opportunities, develop training programs, assist in development of policies and procedure and EMS strategic plan. Candidate must have a working knowledge of Virginia State Statues pertaining to EMS. Must be able to pass annual fit for duty test. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years managerial/supervisory experience in Emergency Services with a progressive roll in the EMS command structure. Bachelor's Degree with major course work in Management, or other course work directly related to the core functions of this position is preferred, but not necessary. Candidate must hold current paramedic certification or ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of hire. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years previous experience at the rank of Lieutenant or above. Successful Candidate must possess a valid Virginia driver's license upon employment. Tazewell County EMS is seeking motivated individuals for a rewarding career in the Emergency Medical field to provide quality (BLS or ALS) patient care utilizing thorough knowledge of department protocols.
